Amber, aka Mrs Snips

My name is Amber, aka Mrs. Snips. This is my blog for snippets of my knitting adventures.

I’ve been knitting off and on since 2002. I was interested at first because I wanted to knit a Harry Potter scarf (I may have a tad bit of an HP obsession) while in college. I went to Meijer, bought some cheap yarn in Gryffindor colors and plastic needles, and went home to visit with my mom and get a knitting lesson. I ended up making an insanely long scarf (so long I never actually wore it), with lots of stops and starts. When I finished, the scarf just kept rolling up on the sides, and blocking didn’t help at all. This disappointment made me put down the needles for a couple of years, and I instead focused on finishing college.

After I graduated and got my first job, I decided I wanted to knit a baby blanket for my cousin who was expecting. It was the first project I’d ever done with really nice, quality yarn, and I was hooked. The rest is history.

So now, after several adventures, including some time living in England with my British husband Mr. Snips, we are back and settled in my home state of Indiana with our young daughter. We like it here very much. I like it, in particular, because of the nice yarn shops that are in close proximity!
